Our Security and Backup Protocol For WordPress Sites
We just released our Security and Backup Protocol for WordPress websites.
We hope it helps you secure your sites.
Introduction
Protecting your website has become even harder in the days of AI. The new normal is AI is finding all kinds of security issues not just in WordPress.
In Sept 2026 Microsoft patched over 960 security issues on patch Tuesday.
Security problems are all over and it comes down to trust.
We have protected over 1000 websites in our time and continue to protect them.
We at Stunning Digital Marketing do know this is a lot of work. If you have any questions or would like us to help you, please email us at hello@stunningdigitalmarketing.com
Update Strategy
When we started managing WordPress websites you could update a site once a week and be fine.
This is not the case anymore!
We update sites Monday to Friday sometimes multiple times a day!
We use MainWP to help us manage and updates websites, https://mainwp.com/
Backup Strategy
At Stunning Digital Marketing, we use All-In-One Wp Migration Pro to do all our backups.
We do one full backup on a daily basis with an incremental backup every 4 hours after.
All backups are saved to a Google Drive.
We keep every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Backup for 30 days.
Website Security
We now make two factor authentication mandatory for all websites we maintain.
We use Jeff Star’s BBQ Firewall to help protect our websites, https://wordpress.org/plugins/block-bad-queries/.
We also run a couple of custom plugins from our good friend Ryan Waterbury.
Contact Form Security
We use Ws-Form from our good friend Mark Westguard. https://wsform.com/
With it we use the free Cloud Flair Turnstile to protect forms from being spamed.
