Hi Everybody, Rob here again. So in today’s podcast, I want to talk about a debate that’s been raging on the internet. And that has to do with a website called only fans. Only fans was originally a site where content creators could go to put their content behind a paywall, and make a little bit of money. And as many of these sites go, unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, only fans turned into a hub for paid porn, their sex workers models and more selling pictures and videos on on the fence. Now, I’m not advocating porn in this podcast at all one bit. What I am looking at it is from the free speech endeavor. And I’ve talked about free speech on this podcast before. And I think it’s worth touching on again. I truly believe that any way we try and stifle free speech that impacts somebody’s ability to express themselves in a legal matter is not a good thing. So only fans kind of did a double take. And for those who don’t know this story, they made an announcement that they were going to ban all sexually put explicit or pornography material. And frankly, three days later, when there was such an uproar on the internet, they backtracked and said, Oh, we fixed it with our payment processor. So my concern is if you can fix it with your payment processors in three days, and those are who you’re blaming, why didn’t you fix it before he made the announcement? Problem number one. Problem number two, the biggest website on the internet for porn, it legal porn is Pornhub. And they don’t seem to have a problem with a payment processor. So I now question why. And then the third problem I have is, all these payment processors allowed and accepted only fans is money or payments to be processed. So they could take their Cut, cut. For those who don’t know, every time you do a MasterCard or visa transaction master visa, make money or American Express. So that’s the third thing. So it was good at one time. Why is it not good? Now? Let’s stop playing this selfish. Oh, I don’t like pornography. entitlement. I’m not a porn fan either, frankly. But my bigger concern is if you don’t like pornography, don’t go there. Don’t look at it. Don’t watch it. We’ve already crossed this divide. Many, many times when we started legalizing CBD in many places, including in Canada, where I live. I don’t like it either. But the reason they legalized it is to put controls in and frankly to make money off taxes. I think it’s just a matter of time. Before we end up legalizing the world’s oldest profession, that’s prostitution. For the same reason. It doesn’t appeal to everybody. But frankly, if you can put controls in and allow people to express themselves in a legal matter, who cares? If this is something you don’t want to partake in, ignore it. Don’t do it. What does it matter? I mean, it’s debate goes on and on in Ontario as of the end of the month. And in Canada. We now have legalized sports betting on individual events. Now they’re controlled by the provinces. But you will be able to in Ontario’s case through the Ontario order, lottery Corporation, place bets on sporting events on an individual. There’s many people out there that says gambling is taboo. We shouldn’t do it. Personally. I’m not a big gambler either. But people have the right to their issues, and not something we need to think about. We can’t keep changing the world. But we can control the world. And frankly, if you don’t like something, stay away from it. Don’t partake in just my foods or thoughts on the only fans debate. If you don’t like it, stay away from it. But stop screaming at the payment processor saying, Oh, you shouldn’t allow this. It’s porn. Well, maybe they shouldn’t allow you to share your pajamas. They shouldn’t allow you to do other things. And they should stifle your free speech. Is that what you really want? I don’t think that’s necessarily a good idea. Let them have their free speech. I actually think it’s a little late for the fans, because most of the content creators who put out that kind of material that they built their platform on, have actually gone elsewhere to bother doctors over 10 sites that was tied up material. So they’ll go elsewhere, only fans will die a slow death. And frankly, that’s just the way it goes. has always Rob Karen’s weighing in on the only fans debate a little bit with some examples of free speech, and other things. And until next time, have an amazing day. Bye bye for now.
