Show Notes
Hey everybody, Rob Cairns here. I hope everybody’s doing great today. Today’s podcast is a real special one. As you know, this podcast is dedicated to a couple people. My parents and Bruce Cairns and Tiz Marrone and you’ve heard me talk on this show in past a lot about my family and I thought I’d talk a little bit about Tiz and our relationship and why she inspires me and that whole side of things.
Um Tiz and I met about two and a half years ago in November and uh frankly uh we met of all places on Facebook dating, the the least spot for me to meet somebody because frankly Facebook’s not my favorite social media platform. It worked for that. I don’t use Facebook much anymore and so on. And we agreed to go out on a date and one date led to a second date which led to a third and so on. And that turned into what I consider an amazing relationship that had its ups and downs.
And then in uh 2024 in February, I got sick and I spent eight days in the hospital in the ICU with an abscess that turned into be diabetic issues that was not very good. And what I’ll tell you is Tiz was there for me every day. She was at the hospital every day. She supported me. But I also think that amongst with some other personal stuff put some strain on our relationship. And 2024 was a hard year. We did stuff, but things weren’t worn as well as they should have been. And you know, we took a bit of a break. We’ve spent a lot of time uh working on stuff together. I will say I won’t say what we’ve worked on out of respect to Tiz. That’s not fair to her and I’ll never do that. But I will do say we did go out and reach out and get some professional help. And what I would say is I would encourage anybody who goes through any issues in their life and they’re having a tough time, reach out and get some professional help. There’s all kinds of avenues to do that.
And but what I wanted to say more importantly is not only has Tiz been there for me more than once in my life. But Tiz inspires what I do every day. Believes in me, supports what I do. When I show her what I do, whether it’s this podcast or show her something I’ve worked on or even my friend Bridget and Warren’s latest book and show her the introduction I wrote for that book. Um, she’s proud of me and I know that so much so that this podcast is dedicated to her and my book series I’m working on, Words from the Pod, is 100% dedicated to Tiz. She inspires me. She makes me a better person every day. And frankly, she makes all those around her better, whether it’s me or friends and anybody else. That’s she’s in many ways very unselfish. Um she cares about people and anybody who knows her is lucky and I maintain I’m beyond lucky. I’ve told her this and I’ll say it very publicly. When I met her, I won the lottery. There’s no question.
Um, you know, there are those people that come into your life once in a lifetime and Tiz fits that bill 100%. So, I just wanted to take a minute and sort of walk you through a little bit and why the podcast and the book is dedicated to her and just say thank you. Much love to you and your family always.
