Show Notes

Hey Everybody Rob Cairns here. WordPress 6.7 comes out today later on today and I wanted to sit and chat with you about how you should update your website. First thing is, I’m not a big fan of automatic updates, so I try to turn them. Off whenever possible. The second thing I would suggest is before you do any website updating, take a backup and do that at the site level, not the host level. See user program like a draft, pause or solid backup or something along that line. Make sure you have a backup. And you probably won’t look at that backed up and make sure is that backup valid and is it good and can I restore from it is something that. Then I will go ahead and update the site, update the WordPress version, update the plugins and themes. Once you update that site, I would go and check the site for functionality. Make sure things like the contact form works and in woo Commerce site make sure everything on woo. The working make sure you can run through a checkout. Of a product and make sure all that still happening because that really matters, because if the function of your site changes then you have a problem. And then I would even go so far as once you get all these updates done, pick another good backup just in case something happens. So that’s how I would go about doing your WordPress 6.7 update. If you have any questions, shoot me an e-mail, Robert@stunningdigitalmarketing.com  be glad to jump in and help you have a great day.
