Show Notes

Hey everybody, I’m Rob Cairns, I’m the founder, CEO and chief creator of amazing ideas at Stunning Digital Marketing. In today’s podcast, I want to talk about why I moved my e-mail from Google Workspaces too fast mail. So the word can be described in one word, privacy for those who don’t know, the problem with Google is that many use any Google account, whether it’s your Gmail account or workspaces account, they’re mining your emails for data to decide what to feed you ads, and that’s a bit of a problem for me. So I’ve been looking at fast mail for well over a year and I almost made the plunge six months ago and right before the long weekend I got the itch, the itch that I needed to move, and I made the move to Friday, the Labor Day weekend. So basically what I did was I changed my mail records known as MX Records to fast mail. After importing my Google mailbox into fast. Now there’s some really cool import tools. You’ll import your mailbox, your contacts, your. So that was easy. I flipped the MX records and away I went. Their smartphone app is really good actually, and I quite like it so, and I prefer to the Gmail app. Everything’s in one place. The only problem I have is cause they do booking links and things like that. I have problems with the calendar. And So what I’m ending up doing on a calendar side is I’m doing a bit of a hybrid. I’m actually still using a Google Calendar assigned to a Gmail account. For now. And tidy Cal my booking software interfaces with that and then that just sinks in the fast mail and then syncs out on the local side on the PC I’m running Thunderbird on my PC on my laptop, so that takes care of a client. I prefer to use a client than a web interface. And one in the Plus is already in fast mails web int, they’re not web interface, they’re mobile client is. I can actually create rules from the mobile client and I couldn’t do that before. Believe it or not from the Gmail mobile client or it’s? Or if it’s there, it’s a real pain in the ****, so. That’s kind of happened as well. So it’s made my life a lot easier. I’m very happy. 5 bucks US a month will get you a 30 GB mailbox, which is as big as I need and I’m good to go. And the other amazing thing is Gmail only allows you 6 e-mail aliases for every account. Fast mails basically unlimited. So I can add more aliases to that which are really cool and it makes my business.

So here’s a.

Little bit on my move to fast mail and why I did it. I couldn’t be happier to be honest and they will give you 30 days free to try it and see if you’d like to service. Take advantage of that fastmail.com. This is not an affiliate link. I don’t get paid for this. I just really like to. Service someone to share it with? You guys have a great day. Bye. Bye bye for now
