Rob here again in today’s Quick Tip Podcast, I want to talk about why you need to use variable products on an e-commerce store. And I’ve looked at three projects lately. Two I’ve taken on, and I gotta tell you. They’re not using variable products, so let’s break down.
First of all, for those who don’t know, when business owners don’t don’t know what’s a variable product. A good example is T-shirts. It’s a really simplistic example, but you buy a T-shirt. You choose the color red, blue-green, and then you choose the size. Small, medium, large, extra large, 2XL3 excel that’s actually a product with two variables. One is the T-shirt size, one is the color. Two variables on that one, but the point I’m making is from a user experience, it’s what she said to say. I want this T-shirt and go down and choose the size and the color instead of having the shirt through the entire WooCommerce database of products on your website and find the exacted right one you want with the right color with the right size. That is just a bad user experience. A bad UXO, frankly.
So what I would say is if you’re building out an e-commerce store and you have variables in your products build in the variables into the products, WooCommerce does it on WordPress, Shopify does it, they all do it. Use variable products. Your users will get less frustrated with you and actually they might even buy more because they’re not as frustrated. So that’s a quick tip. Use a variable product and what a variable product is and make sure you do it and he comes all the time, Rob Cairns, CEO, chief creator of amazing ideas, of stunning digital marketing. You need to use variable products in your e-commerce stores. Have a great day.
