Hey everybody, Rob here again in today’s podcast.

I want to talk about something that might make some people uncomfortable and that’s about death.

But specifically, what do you do about your digital assets after you die?

It’s an interesting problem and something I think about quite often as I have a large digital footprint.

I have Twitter account, a Facebook account.

I’ve got a LinkedIn account.

I’ve got friends all over the world.

I’ve got a Google.

Photos account there’s a big one for some people.

I have an Amazon photos account.

I have an Amazon account and it goes on and goes on and goes on.

And the question becomes, what do you do?

I know from.

Many situations, many accounts get left open after people die and they just either get shut down eventually or frankly never get shut down.

And is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I don’t think it’s necessarily a good thing.

So the way.

I’ve kind of handled my digital assets is.

In my safe box in the house, I have a list of all my accounts.

All the logins, all the passwords.

In an all vote that says if something happens to me, please.

Do this.

One of the things we need to look at is what do we do?

My mum was recently.

Updating some documents and I had this discussion with her.

What do we do?

And it’s not that I want to think more bitter.

I want to think ahead, but it’s a legitimate question.

I personally if something happened to me, I’d like my accounts brought down.

I don’t want them left up there.

And in terms of photos.

Those photos are all local as well, but I’d like people to grab the photos that they would like to have and cherish.

To me, that’s really important, so that’s why I’ve looked after that.

I’ve got videos, I’ve got all kinds of stuff.

And it’s something we need to think about.

And we need to think about long and hard.

How do we manage that after our death?

What would our wishes be?

And put them right in.

In writing.

That’s what I would do.

Is have a list of IDs and passwords for those digital accounts somewhere safe in an envelope that says don’t open whether it’s in a safer safety deposit box.

And honestly, keep it right with your will so that that gets enacted on and put that those wishes right in your will as well.

Just some food for thought.

Think about what you do with your digital accounts.
