Robert Cairns here again. So in this week’s podcast, we’re gonna talk about taking care of yourself. It matters for business, it matters for home, it matters for relationship, and it matters for you. So, I’ve made this mistake, though, to work, you work 40 to 60 hours you bring work home, you don’t take care of yourself, you don’t take a break, you don’t do anything. And then three weeks later, you wonder why you have no energy, or you’re sick, and you’re flat on your back. So let me give you some tips on taking care of yourself. Number one, make sure you get enough sleep. Sleep is paramount to your success. Personally, business wise, or even being an entrepreneur, get enough sleep. eight hours of sleep per day is a must a must a must. working all night doesn’t do you any good. So get some sleep. Number two, make sure during your work day you actually take breaks. Fortunately, I work from a home office. And those who know me know we have three, two hours in a cat in two hours, the dogs need to go out all the time. So I work it into my schedule where I take the dogs out on a pretty regular basis. That helps me and gets me a break. Also, take breaks to eat and eat properly. Stay hydrated, drink lots of water. Sometimes have coffee or drink pot, but drink lots of water that helps and get up and stretch once in a while. It’s not a good idea to overload and to kill yourself. So think about that. Number three, when you’re working, and you hit the end of the day, make sure you start talking wine properly. Many people do silly things like drink caffeine late in the day. They don’t they stay high strung all day, just make sure you unwind and start to relax a bit. The more he unwind, the more you relax, the better your sleep. As also as part of taking care of myself and self care. I write a journal every day. So I sit down at the end of the day, and I wrote a journal and my thoughts. And they’re really not for anybody else. But just for me to think about what’s happened during the day, how it’s happened, and why it’s AP. And frankly, I had been writing a journal journal pretty regularly to COVID started, I stopped. And just recently, I picked it up again. So try that. That helps as well. If you need to go to the doctor, because you’re not feeling well go. If you need to go and talk to somebody, because your head is in the right spot. Go. Mental health is a biggie folks. And we all take care of our bodies, but nobody takes care of their head. For some people, meditation works, you might want to try that. And try meditate. And there’s really good apps like calm on Android and an iOS phone that will help you with that. This is something I’m actually exploring right now for myself. I’ve never really been a meditation fan. But that might change. The other thing long term is make sure you take some vacations, make sure you spend time with your friends. Make sure you spend time with the people you love the most. You will never get the time back. So think about that as well. It’s really hard right now with COVID going on, but do it anyway pick up the phone jump on a zoom call. You get it? Just do it. You know you’ll be better off for it. And when COVID breaks, make sure you get a vacation. There was no reward to the person that worked his butt off in the long run. Yeah, many offices. Have rewards if you haven’t taken a sick day. But I think that’s a big mistake. Productivity matters more. And I’m not so sure that people that work through sicknesses and don’t shut it down, actually are benefiting themselves or the people they work for. So I would strongly suggest don’t doing that. And don’t do it, no matter how much the temptation is. I think you’re better off when you’re not feeling well, taking a couple of days to rest and recoup. The body’s telling you something, it’s telling you you’re not Well, think about that.
