Rob Cairns here. Earlier this week, I said I would do five days of podcasts to make up to you. All the internet issues I had over the last couple of weeks. Well, we’re in the middle of a worldwide crisis, and that’s called COVID-19, or the Coronavirus. So what I thought I’d do to help you out. And as you know, I introduced a new section into my podcast, starting yesterday or the day before, was to include a podcast, even if it’s a quickie every day, that’s Monday through Sunday, every day until the Coronavirus situation gets better. So in the new segment, one of the things I’m gonna do is talk about some of the news in the world to do with the Coronavirus and things that are closing and things going on to keep you abreast just some short snippets, and then go to the news wires after and search for them. So I think that will help you out. And then I’m gonna continue with the Small Business tip, as I always do in this podcast, because it’s really important that you succeed, and your business continues to succeed, even at this time. So today, after we do the news, I’m going to get to a podcast and a shout out to my friend Todd Jones. And what I’m going to talk about is guaranteeing stuff on your website. And my thoughts about that. So why don’t you sit back and relax and listen to today’s news.

Well, today’s news segment is a bit of a smorgasbord and most of its around COVID-19 or the Coronavirus. The big story of the day in Canada, Canada’s pm Justin Trudeau has self isolated himself. His wife Sophie, potentially is waiting on tests to see if she’s positive for the coronavirus solar Prime Minister has self isolated now onto a few sports stories. The MLS Major League Soccer suspended its season for 30 days. As of today, originally, the ACC big 10 Big 12 Pac 12. sec, Atlantic 10 and the American Athletic Conference all canceled their conference tournaments and NCAA basketball and that is even mushroomed even more that the NCAA announced at 430 around four o’clock eastern today that March Madness would be canceled for both women and men. The NHL has put their season on hold so is the National lacrosse league. And Major League Baseball has put spring training on hold and delayed the start of the season for potentially two weeks or longer. In Ontario, where I live, schools will be closed two weeks after March Break in the public boards. So that means the kids will have three weeks and hopefully COVID-19 will disappear by then. Disneyland in California has closed Spain has canceled all soccer matches. And the cruise industry is taking its first two hits pretest and Viking cruises have closed down for the time being not a really good situation the stock market is down gases down and so on. Please do me a favor. Take care of your loved ones. If you know seniors over 65 reach out to them make sure they’re okay. And take care of yourselves and the best care this is washing your hands. If you have to cough, cough into a sleeve. Take care of yourself. And please follow the protocols in your area. Love you guys all hope to see you all well. Now on to this week’s podcast.

Today’s topic is one that came up in discussion with my good friend Todd Jones this morning. Shout out to Todd and he showed me a lawyer site in Conway where he lives and the lawyer site claimed they were the best stuff. But the problem both Todd and I had in conversation was Gather the best stuff. But there was no link to a survey, the link to, for example, those newspaper best stubs, no link to anything. So there was nothing to prove. They’re really the best stuff. I personally think. And I could be wrong. They were the best stuff in their own mind in their own legend. And that’s not the way to do it. We need some proof to show it to us. Or don’t use terms like that on your website. It’s bad marketing folks. And frankly, misleading, dishonest and manipulating. If they were the best oven, say a Conway newspaper ranked or top three lawyers and they were the number one, they’ve all right to claim they’re the best stuff according to the Conway newspaper, show the badge, show link. We do those types of surveys in Toronto all the time, and there’s nothing wrong with them. They are surveyed and somebody is deemed you the best stuff. So that that’s okay. Or in the case of a friend of mine who’s got a jewelry store. He’s been voted the best jewelry store in Durham Region and past great, he’s got a badge on his website and it links to it awesome for him because he’s showing us the best stuff but there’s no credibility to you as a company or an organization or as an individual calling yourself the best let others do it quantify and show social proof that’s all so if it were me I would question this lawyers office and their credibility and as Todd said the copying or website is not very good. So they’re really not the best of anything but that’s just my food for thought. Notice I didn’t mention the company’s name because what good is calling them up gonna do just give them traffic I don’t really want to give them there’s no point net. Thanks, Todd for having the discussion this morning on Facebook as we do many a day. I really appreciate you and told me listeners are appreciate you guys. Please stay safe.
